Male Sexual Dysfunction

Abstract
Impairment of erectile function, although a benign disorder, has a profound impact on the well-being of many men. Imapairment of erection is meaning that impairment of erection is meaning that impairment of general health, because normal sexual
function
related to numerous normal human physiologic functions, such as neurologic, endocrinologic, hemodynamically, psychogenically etc. But the sex had long been considered a social taboo, and the doctors, who should manage the problems of patients,
had
overlooked and disregarded the problems of sexual dysfunction. Fortunately, the recent change in social attitudes has challged this assumption and has encouraged scientific research into male sexual dysfunction during last 15 years.
In this article, we discuss briefly about normal mechanism of erection, definition of sexual dysfunction, epidemiology, classification and causes of erectile dysfunction. And this is followed by a discussion of recent advances in clinical
application:
diagnostic techniques for evaluating the nocturnal penile tumescence (NPT), penile artery, venous systems; and treatment with intracavernous injections of vasoactive agents, vaccumm device, and penile prosthesis, for the general practitioner.
Now with a high degree of accuracy, clinicians are able to differentiate between organic and psychogenic origins and to treat adequately by theses advanced diagnostic modalities and treatment methods. No more, erectile dysfunction is not evading
problem, and with proper management everyone can maintain normal sexual life.
